Job Description:
Follow facility laundry procedures to operate the laundry department in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Functions:
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
- Follow schedules for the laundry department.
- Follow laundry procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Follow waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy.
- Ironing duties as assigned.
- Properly use and care for laundry equipment.
- Adjust water temperature valves to maintain required temperatures.
- Use laundry supplies properly.
- Operate automated laundry solution dispensing system.
- Handle clean and soiled laundry appropriately.
- Identify and report garments or linens in ill repair to supervisor.
- Distribute clothing to residents' rooms in accordance with the theft loss program.
- Identify and report to supervisor any equipment malfunction.
- Identify and report to supervisor areas in poor repair.
- Follow infections control procedures through proper handling, storage, washing and transporting of all garment and linens.
- Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.
- Observe infection control procedures.
- Follow Residents' Rights policies at all times.
- Observe all facility policies and procedures.
- Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
- Assume accountability for all data contained in the employees' handbook.
- Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
- Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
- Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.

Qualifications:
- Be able to pass OSBI check
- Be able to lift without restrictions
- Be able to squat, bend, and stoop without restrictions
- Be able to be on feet for extended periods of time
|
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
|
|
|
Continuing Education:
- As required by state and facility, including seminars.
|
Schedule:
- Varies by shift
|
