Job Description:

Follow facility housekeeping procedures to implement the housekeeping procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

  • Follow oral and written instructions.
  • Follow material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Operate housekeeping equipment safely.
  • Perform cleaning procedures in accordance with facility policy.
  • Observe waste disposal procedures in accordance with facility policy: follow directions.
  • Assist in proper care of housekeeping equipment.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.
  • Report any observed area in poor repair to supervisor.
  • Use housekeeping supplies efficiently.
  • Attend in-service training programs for housekeeping employees.
  • Observe infection control procedures related to Housekeeping Department.
  • Follow Residents' Rights policies at all times.
  • Follow facility safety program.
  • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
  • Assume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook.
  • Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
  • Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
  • Be able to pass OSBI check
  • Be able to lift without restrictions
  • Be able to squat, bend, and stoop without restrictions
  • Be able to be on feet for extended periods of time
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • As required by state and facility, including seminars.
